As a nurse, or any other professional who works at hospitals, after taking this course, you will communicate effectively with patients who are English speakers and will be able to attend courses in the Medical Area which are held in English.
Modules
Body parts and organs: you will be able to name and identify body parts and organs of the human body;
Health personnel and areas: you will be able to name and identify different areas and departments of a hospital as well as the tools and professionals that act in these areas;
Health and illness: you will be able to discuss lifestyle choices and situations that impact a patient's health;
Symptoms: you will be able to understand and talk about the symptoms that a patient is reporting or showing;
Diseases and examinations: Once you understand the symptoms you will be able to analyse them and identify diseases associated with what the patient is reporting;
Discussing treatment: Finally, you will be able to discuss and communicate the treatment associated with each disease.
The more you study ESP - MED the more vocabulary used in hospitals you will dominate. However you will evolve strongly module after module. Park offers 6 modules in the Medical area.
